The TCB Working Cat Hero Jeans are a meticulous homage to the iconic Wrangler 11MW from the 1940s that effortlessly channels the timeless spirit of classic denim. Crafted by the esteemed Japanese brand TCB, these jeans embody heritage craftsmanship, paying homage to the legendary style that defined an era.
Inspired by the rugged elegance worn by the likes of John Lennon, who often sported Wranglers, jackets, and jeans, the Working Cat Hero Jeans take their cues from the 11MW prototype jean of the 40s. Distinguished by its 11.7oz left-hand twill fabric, a departure from the right-hand twill used by Levi's and Lee during those years, these jeans offer a softer texture with increased flexibility, promising a uniquely comfortable fit.
Noteworthy is the left-hand twill's propensity to produce a distinctive waterfall fade over time, setting it apart from the more conventional raindrop fades associated with Levi's. Adding to the allure, the pants undergo a semi-sanforization process, meticulously chosen by TCB during their extensive research. These jeans proudly embrace the characteristic strong leg twist observed in vintage Wranglers from the 40s-50s. This leg twist is achieved to the left, influenced by the left-hand twill.
Like many other TCB jeans, the Cat Hero model runs slightly small. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual, as is common with many Japanese one-wash models. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
TCB (which stands for Two Cats Brand) is a Japanese label founded in Kojima by Hajime Inoue in 2012. It specializes in reproductions of the classic American denim icons produced from the 1920s to the 1960s. Among his garments, we can find some of the highest-quality reproductions we have ever seen, made in his own workshop on sewing machines more than a hundred years.
